FIPS-M in deep mourning

It is with profound sadness that FIPS-M has learned of the passing of Hymie Steyn at the age of 96 last Tuesday.

Hymie’s unwavering passion for fishing and conservation connected him with anglers worldwide. His dedication to the sport and the preservation of nature led him to work tirelessly on national, and international bodies to advance these causes. He remained an active figure in these efforts until the very end of his days.

Hymie was a lifelong learner, always reading and researching, and he never shied away from a spirited debate on nearly any subject. His wicked sense of humour made him a friend and highly appreciated colleague

FIPS-M extends its heartfelt condolences to Hymie’s family and friends. He leaves behind a lasting legacy that will continue to inspire those who shared his passion.
