Lead alternatives 2According to European Commission press releases, a ban on the use of lead (Pb) in fishing weights is planned for 2025.

The Dutch Sport Fishing Federation (Sportvisserij Nederland) has already invested a lot and carried out a great deal of research into lead (Pb)-free fishing. They have drawn up a list of alternatives that are already on the market.

FIPS-M is certainly aware of the problem of Pb pollution and the constraints on anglers. We are closely watching the development of alternatives to lead for having leadfree championships in the near future.
